This temple was built during the reign of the then king of Rewa, Maharaj Bhav Singh. This temple is a Siddhapeeth, where thousands of citizens come for darshan every Tuesday and Saturday. It is said that Shri Chirhulanath Hanuman Ji was established by Hanuman Das, a disciple of Mahant Sukhdevdas (Ramdas) of Akhadghat. Shri Hanuman Das had the blessings of Hanuman ji. At present, the all-round development of the temple is being done by Shri Chirhulanath Temple Construction Committee, Rewa. 12 Jortlinga temples and Havan Mandap have been constructed in the temple premises. Ramsagar and Khemsagar Hanuman temples are also located near Chirhula temple. Reva. The administration has started the initiative to develop the major religious places of the district as pilgrimage sites. Chirhula temple is famous as a religious place. Thousands of devotees come here every day to have darshan of Hanuman ji. On Friday, Collector Omprakash Srivastava visited the Chirhula temple complex along with two members of APCO who came from Bhopal. He inspected Chirhula temple, Dharamshala, pond and the roads connecting to the temple.
